For most of us, Mondays are a drag. Once the weekend comes to an end, we’re overcome by a sudden feeling of anxiety, aka the Monday Blues. Even if you love your job, it can be a major struggle to leave your bed with another 40 hour work week ahead of you.. But Mondays don't have to be feared. Read on for a few things that help you get Monday off to a great start of the week!
Prepare for the day
We’ve all been there. 2 days of sleeping in and all of the sudden, we’re in the Monday morning rush again. But the more stress you can save yourself on Monday morning, the better. So reserve some time over the weekend to figure out what to wear, prepare your lunch and pack your bag before your Monday alarm rings again, ensuring you’re set up for a successful, less hectic week!
Plan your Monday nights
The weekend might be over, but that doesn’t mean your plans need to until the next Friday. Arrange something fun on a Monday night or later during the week that you look forward to. Take the time to catch up with a friend or colleague, or do something you’ve been wanting to do for a while. You’ll find time flying by much faster during the day, and it could make the rest of your week so much better.
Prioritize and organize
There might be an endless amount of work waiting for you on a Monday morning. Your inbox might be crapped and your to do list mile long.But instead of feeling overwhelmed, don’t stress. Figure out the most important tasks and get them out of the way. Then work your way through the rest of your list.
Dress to impress
I automatically feel better for the day if I put that little bit of additional effort into getting ready in the morning. It makes me feel like I’m ready for Monday and excited to start the week. So don't shy away from putting on something new or dressing up a bit more on a Monday. Lay out your clothes on Sunday to not spend too much time in the morning thinking about what to wear. It can make your Monday feel a lot different!
